Product Information

Symbol/Gene Name:

Alias:  Protein-lysine N-methyltransferase,Archaeal protein lysine methyltransferase,aKMT

Uniprot: F0NBH8

Background: Catalyzes the methylation of lysine residues in target proteins, using S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) as the methyl donor. Exhibits broad substrate specificity, being able to methylate the crenarchaeal chromatin protein Cren7 primarily at 'Lys-11', 'Lys-16' and 'Lys-31', as well as a number of recombinant Sulfolobus proteins in vitro. Methylates lysine residues in a rather sequence-independent manner.

Construct: 6His-StrepII-TEV-GG-aKMT(S2-K161 end)

Expression Host: E. coli

Purity: 90%

Formulation: 50 mM Tris-HCl (pH7.5), 200 mM NaCl, 20% glycerol

Supplied as sterile
